Lakers beat Warriors in high team effort.
SAN FRANCISCO — The Lakers beat the Warriors, 109–103, in a high-energy four-quarter team win on Saturday, with four of their five starters scoring in double figures, improving their season record to 26–31.
The Lakers' starting unit combined for 75 of the 109 points scored, with Dennis Schröder scoring a team-high 26 points on 7-of-12 (58%) shooting overall.
“Energy, effort, and urgency. That’s what we played with tonight,” said head coach Darvin Ham.
Anthony Davis scored just 7 points until the fourth quarter, finishing with 13 points and 16 rebounds and making an impact in other ways, including a huge block on Warriors Donte DiVincenzo, giving him a total of three blocks.
Rui Hachimura scored second on the team, going 2-for-4 (50%) from deep and 6-for-11 (54%) overall with a total of 16 points and 7 rebounds.
The Lakers' new trade assets gave them the spark they've been missing all season in their debuts, with D'Angelo Russell scoring the most of the group with 15 points on 50% (6-for-12) shooting, adding 6 assists and 5 rebounds in 35 minutes played.
Jarred Vanderbilt was an instant energy booster for Los Angeles, making the most of his opportunity, finishing with a stat line of 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal in 16 minutes.
"I'm so thankful that we got him," said Darvin Ham on Vanderbilt.
Malik Beasley had trouble finding consistency from behind the arc, shooting 0-for-6 from deep, finishing with 4 points on 2-of-9 from the floor in 16 minutes.
"Malik [Beasely] went 0–6 from 3, and I'm okay with that," said Anthony Davis. "We don't want him to hesitate; just let it fly."
The Lakers' next matchup comes this Monday on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Spectrum SportsNet.
