Lakers top Wizards behind Davis’ 55-point night.

WASHINGTON — The Lakers win big over the Wizards behind Anthony Davis’ 55-point performance, beating Washington 130–119 for their third straight win to improve their season record to 10–12.

“It’s fun to watch, fun to be a part of,” said head coach Darvin Ham after Anthony Davis’ performance. “Great for our ball club and the guys being inspired by his performances and wanting to see him thrive."

Despite a late-game push from the Wizards, the Lakers broke away for the win, matching every bucket Washington made with a fun-to-watch sequence of back-and-forth dunks between both teams.

The Lakers’ success continued inside the key, scoring 72 points in the paint on 54% (52-for-96) shooting overall from the field and knocking down 10-for-26 (38%) shooting from behind the arc.

Following a 44-point performance in Milwaukee, Anthony Davis' brilliance continued with an even more dominant performance, scoring 55 points on 73% (22-for-30) shooting from the field, adding 17 rebounds and 3 blocks in 27 minutes of action.

This is Anthony Davis’ fifth career 50-point game and his second one in a Lakers uniform.

“Just being healthy. Going out with a mindset of just dominating. I’ve just been feeling really good and confident on all my shots,” said Anthony Davis on his big night.

Davis became the only player in Lakers history to achieve 40+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 3+ blocks in back-to-back games since blocks became official in 1973–74.

“He [Anthony Davis] wants to be that guy for the team. I’m just thrilled by the way he’s been playing.” Ham added.

LeBron James’ performance was a key factor in the Lakers' win, dishing passes early in the game, getting his teammates involved, and understanding how important it was to feed Davis.

“They caught us on our heels a little bit, but we played a great game again tonight,” said LeBron on Sunday’s win.

LeBron finished second on the team in scoring with 29 points on 41% (12-for-26) shooting from the field, adding 8 rebounds and 6 assists in 34 minutes.

On a night that had huge success from LeBron and Davis, Lonnie Walker’s outing got overlooked, scoring 20 points on an efficient 70% (7-for-10) finish from the field.

Russell Westbrook gave the Lakers a high assist night, notching a season-high 15 assists in his 28 minutes of action.

“Just playing the game I already know how to play. When I got the ball in my hands, I make the right play and the right read since I’ve been in this league,” said Westbrook on his 15-assist performance.

The Lakers will continue their third game of a six-game road trip this Tuesday against the 15–9 Cleveland Cavaliers at 4:30 PM on Spectrum SportsNet and TNT.
