Rams drop to .500 in out-of-sync loss to 49ers.
The Rams dropped their season record to 2–2 (.500) in an all-around out-of-sync performance from both their offense and defense, falling 24–9 to the San Francisco 49ers.
For the first time since 2007, the Rams failed to record a 20+ yard play in a game, struggling to get anything going on offense as they failed to score a touchdown for the first time under Sean McVay.
Matthew Stafford finished his second straight game without a touchdown in tonight’s loss, completing 66% (32-for-48) of his passes and throwing for 254 yards and an interception.
The offensive line struggled to keep San Francisco’s front seven from getting to Matthew Stafford, sacking him seven times, with 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa finishing with two sacks on the night.
The Rams' run game was nonexistent in tonight’s loss, totaling just 57 yards as nothing went right for the ground game, with Darrell Henderson finishing with 27 yards (3.9 AVG) on seven carries and Cam Akers finishing with 13 yards (1.6 AVG) on eight carries.
Cooper Kupp finished with what was the only solid outing for the Rams offense, catching 14 passes for 122 yards (8.7 AVG).
The Rams’ next matchup will be back at home as they look to get back in the win column next Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys at 1:25 PM PDT on FOX.
