Lakers fall to 2–10 in 5th straight loss.

The Lakers suffered their fifth straight loss this Friday, falling to the Sacramento Kings 120–114 in a fourth-quarter meltdown, dropping their season record to 2–10.

Without LeBron suiting up for the game due to a left adductor strain, the Lakers truly missed his leadership late in the fourth. where they were outscored 33–26.

“There’s no worse feeling than losing, especially when you put a lot of work and effort into the game. We just got to continue to stay the right course, understand this is a long season and just keep fighting. Keep going,” said Lonnie Walker IV.

Despite outshooting the Kings from three at 40% (10-for-25) to Sacramento’s 33% (12-for-36), the Lakers missed shots when they mattered most, falling late in the fourth in a familiar Lakers fashion.

With LeBron out, the Lakers looked to Anthony Davis to get them back into the win column, and he did almost that in an excellent double-double outing in a heartbreaking loss.

“We just got to get some wins, especially in the West. Every team is good. We got a lot of basketball left, but we dug ourselves a hole. We got to win, ASAP,” said Davis.

Davis finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds in 34 minutes, adding 3 blocks and 2 steals while shooting 47% from the floor on 8-of-17.

“Couple ‘my bads’ at the end of the first half, and they go on a 14–5 run. Certain moments where we can’t have ‘my bads,’ Davis added. “It’s good that guys are seeing their mistakes and owning them but we gotta try to limit those ‘my bads’ to 2–3 per game.”

Russell Westbrook finished second in scoring for the Lakers with a double-double of 21 points and 11 assists. Westbrook was the Lakers' leader in three-point shooting and percentage, knocking down four threes on 57% (4-for-7) shooting.

In his first game back from a two-game absence, Lonnie Walker IV provided the Lakers with solid production back in the starting lineup, scoring 19 points on 57% (8-for-14) shooting from the floor and 50% (2-for-4) from behind the arc.

Austin Reaves finished with a season-high 19 points on 58% (7-for-12) shooting from the floor in 33 minutes of action.

The Lakers’ next matchup remains at home this Sunday against the struggling 6–7 Brooklyn Nets at 6:30 PM on Spectrum SportsNet and NBA TV.
