Lakers snap 5-game losing skid in win over Nets.
The Lakers bounced back in Sunday’s win over the Brooklyn Nets, winning 116–103 to snap a 5-game losing streak and improve their season record to 3–10.
Outscoring the Nets in 3 out of the 4 quarters, you can say Sunday was the Lakers' most complete win of the season, staying ahead throughout and never giving up a lead to the Nets all game. CONSISTENCY! What a concept!
Without LeBron James in the lineup for the second straight game, the Lakers looked to Anthony Davis to carry them back to the win column and gain momentum.
“I told him [Anthony Davis], ‘Don’t settle.’ He’s been a monster, and he carried us tonight,” said Darvin Ham on Davis’ big night.
Davis did just that! Carrying the Lakers in Sunday’s bounce-back win with a monster 37-point and 18-rebound performance, both season highs for him, while shooting 60% (15-for-25) from the floor in 33 minutes.
Finishing second on the team in scoring, Lonnie Walker IV was the spark the Lakers needed in Sunday’s win, finishing with 25 points on 4-for-5 shooting from three while shooting 60% (9-for-15) from the floor in 30 minutes.
“He [Anthony Davis] did everything. He led us to this win,” said Walker IV.
Despite inconsistency in his shooting, Russell Westbrook gave the Lakers exactly what they needed from him off the bench: a high-energy sixth man.
Darvin Ham decided to keep Westbrook off the bench in the final crunch time minutes of Sunday’s win, which has been an issue with fans throughout this season.
Westbrook finished with 14 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, and a block in 28 minutes off the bench.
In the past two games, Austin Reaves has given the Lakers outstanding production in the starting lineup in LeBron’s absence.

In Sunday’s win, Reaves finished with 15 points on 3-for-4 (75%) shooting from behind the arc and 5-for-8 (62%) total from the floor.
