Lakers rally past Pacers in 4th quarter comeback.
INDIANA — The Lakers rallied past the Pacers 112-111 in a fourth-quarter thriller on Thursday, thanks to Anthony Davis and LeBron James' heroics, improving their record to 25-28.
After trailing by as many as 15 points, the Lakers figured it out in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Pacers 28–15. Anthony Davis’ all-star impact showed in the final possessions, getting a clutch paint fadeaway to give the Lakers the final lead and then securing a game-clinching block on Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton right after.
“AD can guard everyone in this league,” said LeBron James. “AD did a great job of being able to contain Haliburton and get the ball.”
Anthony Davis finished with his 21st double-double of the season, scoring a game-high 31 points on 48% (13-for-27) shooting from the field, adding 14 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and a steal in 34 minutes.
LeBron James finished second on the Lakers with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists, making him just 63 points away from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time points record.
“It’s one of the greatest records in sports in general,” said LeBron James.
With the Lakers winning their second straight game, they currently sit in the 12th seed in the West, just two games behind the 7th seed and three games from the 5th seed.
“We don’t wanna be in the play-in tournament.” said Anthony Davis. “We want to secure a spot (in the playoffs).”
The Lakers will play the final game of their five-game road trip this Saturday against the 26–27 New Orleans Pelicans at 3 PM on Spectrum SportsNet and ESPN.
