Rams continue momentum in win over Cardinals.

The Rams continue their momentum in Week 3 with their second straight of the season, beating the Arizona Cardinals 20–12 to improve their season record to 2–1.

The defense was the major key in today's win over Arizona, keeping Kyler Murray and the Cardinals offense from reaching the end zone the entire game, surrendering all 12 points to field goals (four field goals).

After a solid outing in Week 2, Matthew Stafford had a get-the-job-done outing for L.A., completing 72% (18-for-25) of his passes and throwing for 249 yards without throwing a touchdown or interception.

The Rams' leading receiver in Arizona was who? You guessed it, second-year wideout Ben Skowronek, leading L.A. with 66 yards on four catches (16.5 AVG), with one of his biggest plays coming in the 4th quarter on a 32-yard reception on third-and-1, which would’ve gone for about 55 yards had he not stepped out of bounds.

“I thought Ben Skowronek had a handful of big-time plays,” McVay said, “Four big catches on four targets, and then his presence was felt. You feel the physicality. This guy’s a maniac, and you love what he does for our football team.”

Skowronek had some key plays without the ball in his hands, setting up key blocks on a Cam Akers touchdown run, lining up in the full-back position in the I-formation.

Cam Akers was able to secure his first touchdown of the season in the Rams' win, scoring on a 14-yard run to put them up 20–9, finishing the game with 61 yards on 13 carries, averaging 5.1 yards per carry and a touchdown.

Surprisingly Cooper Kupp was not the Rams leading receiver in today's win, finishing 3rd in receiving yards on the Rams, recording just 4 catches on 44 yards, with a rushing 20-yard touchdown.

After today's performance, Kupp is still 1st in the NFL with 28 catches, 11th in the NFL with 280 receiving yards, and tied for 2nd with three receiving touchdowns (1 rushing) in three games.

The Rams’ next matchup will be on the road as they look to build off of their second straight win into next week's matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football at 5:15 PM PDT on ESPN.
