Rams struggle in hangover loss to Bills.

Coming into tonight’s game, the Rams were 5–0 under head coach Sean McVay in week one kick-off games, finally falling in a season opener in a hangover loss to the Buffalo Bills, losing 31–10 in an out-of-sync night.

The Rams showed rust in all phases in tonight’s loss, notably showing on offense, allowing seven sacks and three turnovers, despite the Bills turning the ball over four times.

“We really just didn’t get in much of a rhythm tonight,” Sean McVay said. “This is just chapter one of a guaranteed 17 chapters.”

Due to the lack of run support and offensive threats other than Cooper Kupp, Matthew Stafford looked all but great in the Rams season opener. Despite completing 71% (29-for-41) of his passes, Stafford failed to throw for over 250 yards, throwing three costly interceptions and a total QBR of 30.

Although his numbers looked great, Rams star wideout Cooper Kupp had himself a quiet game in tonight’s big loss, finishing the night with 13 catches on 15 targets with 128 yards and a touchdown.

Tonight’s difference makers were Bills QB Josh Allen and former Rams linebacker Von Miller.

Josh Allen finished with four total touchdowns, throwing for 296 yards and running for 56 yards on the ground, ending the night with a QBR of 90.

Former Rams linebacker Von Miller was all over the Rams backfield, making his off-season signing look like a solution to their final piece. Miller finished the night with 4 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks.

The Rams' next matchup will remain at home as they look to bounce back from tonight’s hangover next week against the Atlanta Falcons at 1:05 PM PDT on FOX.
