Team USA edge Luka Doncic-less Slovenia in 30-point exhibition win

Malaga, Spain — The USA Men’s National Basketball Team won their second straight showcase exhibition game on Saturday in a 92-62 win against Slovenia.

Slovenia faced difficulties in the absence of Mavericks star Luka Dončić, who was sidelined as a precaution after sustaining a blow to his left knee during a loss to Spain.

After a 27-20 close end to the first quarter, Team USA amped up their energy, outscoring Slovenia 65-42 throughout the next three quarters.

Team USA was led by Anthony Edwards, who scored a team-high 15 points, and Jalen Brunson, who finished with 11 points and eight assists.

Austin Reaves and Tyrese Haliburton each scored 10 points off the bench for the U.S., showcasing the deep-depth presence they have to take the gold in the Philippines.

Team USA will face Spain at 12:30 p.m. (PST) on Sunday, August 13th, which features a matchup between the world’s top two ranked nations as per FIBA, with Spain holding the top spot on that list.
