Team USA impresses in exhibition win over Puerto Rico
Las Vegas — The USA Men’s National Basketball Team shined in a 117-74 win against Puerto Rico on Monday in their first of five exhibition games before the FIBA World Cup.
Anthony Edwards led Team USA with 15 points on 7-for-13, 53.8%, shooting from the field while notching four assists and four steals.
Jaren Jackson Jr. held his own as Team USA’s starting center with 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor, adding seven rebounds and two blocks, while Mikal Bridges flashed with 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals in 23 minutes.
Jalen Brunson finished with an impressive 11-point, 12-rebound double-double performance.
Team USA’s depth contributed hugely to their victory, with Cam Johnson’s 15 points, Tyrese Haliburton’s 13 assists, and Austin Reaves’ 9 points impressing off the bench.
Team USA’s traditional training camp in Las Vegas ends with this game, signaling the beginning of their international tour.

In the eight days, they’ll be facing off against Slovenia, Spain, Greece, and Germany in the cities of Malaga, Spain, and Abu Dhabi within those games.
